Into the Dark, and Under the Light of the Trojan Moon
Into the Dark, and Under the Light of the Trojan Moon, Revival is an Art Exhibition of a series made and first exhibited in 2021, at a time of introspection. The vigorous self-portraits in chalk pastel on a black background, depicting the focus on the immediate presence and the importance of taking action.
Each figure is captured mid-action - holding, eating, waiting, contemplating - while the titles extend these moments into something mythic of tension: between light and darkness, past and present, confidence and doubt.
These works are about being in the present moment and the quiet bravery required to do so.
